Community Engagement That Mattered

What stood out most was PCS's willingness to meet people where they are. Team members engaged festival‑goers in discussions about safe spaces, access to care, and the importance of advocacy. Their presence helped bridge gaps for individuals who may not always feel seen or supported.

Grand Prairie Health Fair 2026

Chicago Heights Illinois

 Proactive Community Services made a strong, community‑centered impact at the 2026 Grand Prairie Health Fair in Chicago Heights, showcasing its commitment to accessible care and outreach across the South Suburbs. Our team provided on‑site HIV/STI testing, harm reduction support, and job readiness resources, while connecting youth and young adults to housing assistance and other vital community services. The event offered a chance for residents to meet staff face‑to‑face, learn about prevention and wellness, and engage with programs designed to strengthen health outcomes across Chicago Heights and the broader South Suburban region. Their presence reinforced a clear message: Proactive Community Services continues to show up, serve, and empower the community with care, dignity, and action. 

Ending The HIV Epidimic

 The EHE initiative is scaling up four science-based strategies that can end the epidemic: Diagnose, Treat, Prevent, and Respond. For maximum impact, CDC is continuing to invest in communities most affected by HIV — to help local HIV programs recover, rebuild, and begin to expand EHE strategies.
